Pre-Op Area

Approximately 45 minutes before your operation is to begin, you will be escorted to the Pre-Op Area.  A family member or guest may accompany you.  There, one of our nurses will interview you and obtain your medical history.  You will be given appropriate clothing to wear in the operating room.

You will then be interviewed by the anesthesiologist.  you and your anesthesiologist will discuss your anesthetic care and he or she will be happy to answer any questions you have.  An intravenous line will be started and, if needed, you may receive some medication to reduce anxiety.
